Мета: ознайомити учнів з назвами предметів одягу; практикувати у вживанні

            лексичних одиниць в усному мовленні та на письмі; практикувати в

            монологічному та діалогічному мовленні з теми; повторити утворення

            Past Simple; практикувати у вживанні Past Simple ;

            розвивати навички говоріння, читання, аудіювання, письма;

            виховувати ввічливість, інтерес до навчання.

Тип уроку: комбінований.

Обладнання: підручник ( О. Карп’юк, 4 клас), аудиозапис, дошка.

ХІД УРОКУ

І. Оргмомент.

- Good morning, children! I am glad to see you.

- What day is it today?

- What is the weather like today?

ІІ. Повідомлення теми та задач уроку.

Today we’ll continue speaking about shops. You’ll learn some new words on the topic and be able to ask a shop assistant about size, colour and price of the thing you want to buy.

ІІІ. Фонетична зарядка.

Today we are going to practice sound [ә׃].

The early bird, so I have heard,

Catches the worm, and upon my word,

I know two chaps and yet a third

Could learn a lesson from that bird.

Now repeat the following words after me: early, bird, heard, worm, word, third, learn.

e.g. We have a very big shop in our town ”Furshet”. There are many departments in it. There is a baker’s department, a butcher’s department, a fruit and vegetables department, a clothes department and others. My favourite department is a toy department. I go to this shop with my family.

VI. Подання нового лексичного матеріалу.

Look at the board. I’ll read the following words to you and you must repeat them after me.

A small size, a big size, a pair of trainers, a T-shirt, to try on, cheap, expensive, light.

Now let’s read and translate some sentences with new words and word-combinations. (ex.2,p.89)

This book is cheaper than that one. I can buy it as a souvenir: it is cheap but pretty lovely.

This dress is very expensive. Rolls Royce is the most expensive car in Britain.

These balloons are very light and you should hold them tight.

Seller: Can I help you?

Mrs.Brown: I’d like a pair of trainers for my son, please.

Seller: What size?

Mrs.Brown: Size 28, I think.

Seller: Try this pair on. They are the cheapest, the lightest and the most comfortable.

Translate the following sentences into English and write them down into your exercise-books:

X. Гра. Guess what I did yesterday.

Now let’s play a game. One of you should come up to my table and take a card.

Read the card silently and try to show with the help of gestures what you did yesterday. The rest of you should ask him questions like: Did you read a book yesterday? The pupil, who will guess, should continue the game.

( go shopping, tidy up the room, sweep the floor, do the cooking, watch a film)

    The theme of our lesson is “Our favourite holidays”.

III. Лексична зарядка.

     Repeat after me: a custom, a firework, a parade, a tradition, a celebration, to

     celebrate, in honour of, to depend on.

     Translate these words.

     What things do you associate with holidays?(presents, postcards, flowers, etc)

     Make up a scheme.

     Now close your books and say if the following sentences are true or false.

      My name’s Tanya. I live in Ukraine. We celebrate many holidays in our

      country. I should say I like all of them.

      Celebrating is my joy. I love greeting guests at my home. I like cooking

      something tasty. Guests come to share the joy of the day. Sometimes we make

      presents or surprises for each other. It’s great.

    

      Now tell me what holidays you like to celebrate.

       Your task is to make up greetings and join the right group.

       We have four greeting cards for the following holidays: New Year, Birthday,

       St.Valentine’s Day, Easter.

       I’ll give you parts of sentences, you must make up greetings correctly.

1)     Christmas greetings and/ best wishes/ for the New Year.

2)     Many Happy/ returns of the day.

3)     Will you be/ my Valentine?/ Happy Valentine Day!

4)     Happy Easter!/ Have a jolly Eastertime.

       When you form four groups, you are to tell us about these holidays. You may

        use some helpful phrases.

1)     Christmas and New Year: a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, to have a party, to

to invite guests, to make the New Year’s wishes, to sing songs.

2)     Easter: to paint Easter eggs, to go to church, to have family dinner, to bake

an Easter  cake.

3)     Birthday: to invite guests, to get presents, to bake a birthday cake, to have

a good time, to sing songs.

        4)  St.Valentine’s Day: to greet other people, to send greeting cards, to make

              presents.
